◆ ABOUT ERGO BRIEF

Independent research for people who sit for a living.

We dig into ergonomic gear so you don’t have to — no press kits, no sponsored picks.

Ergo Brief started in 2024 with one frustration: nearly every “best ergonomic gear” article online reads like it was assembled from manufacturer spec sheets and Amazon thumbnails. Real desk workers — the people quietly nursing wrist pain, neck stiffness, and afternoon eye fatigue — deserve better than that.

Our mission

To help remote workers, gamers, students, and desk professionals build workspaces that don’t slowly break their bodies. Every guide we publish answers one question: does this actually solve a real pain point a desk worker faces every day?

Our story

The idea came after years of watching friends and colleagues quietly suffer through preventable workspace pain — the kind that builds slowly until physical therapy becomes a calendar regular. Most of them had bought “ergonomic” products that weren’t, often because a review site told them to. We built Ergo Brief to fix that gap: research-driven recommendations grounded in occupational health guidelines, manufacturer specs, and aggregated owner feedback rather than promotional fluff. Every category on the site exists because real people kept asking the same questions about it.

What we cover

  • Standing desks and ergonomic chairs — the foundation of any pain-free setup.
  • Ergonomic keyboards, wrist rests, and laptop stands — the small details that decide whether your wrists last the decade.
  • Blue light and eye protection gear — screen glare, color temperature, and the lighting choices most people get wrong.
  • Active workspace and fitness accessories — balance boards, under-desk movement, and the case for not sitting still all day.
  • In-depth product reviews — ranked, scored, and compared side-by-side, never alphabetized.

Why trust our recommendations

Our research process pulls from manufacturer specifications, published occupational health and ergonomics guidelines, and aggregated owner feedback across multiple retailers — looking specifically for recurring complaints, durability patterns, and red flags that single reviews tend to miss. We don’t accept payment for placement, we don’t run sponsored picks, and a product’s score is never influenced by whether it earns us an affiliate commission.

◆ HOW WE STAY INDEPENDENT

Ergo Brief earns revenue through affiliate commissions when readers buy products we recommend. That commission never changes what we recommend — only whether we get paid when the recommendation turns out to be useful. If a top-rated product happens to have no affiliate program, it still gets the top spot.
